IID are also thrilled in November to welcome a second new member to the team, Stephen. An MArch graduate from Lincoln Stephen joins us as a Part II Architectural Assistant.
IID’s scheme for the development of Wimbledon High School’s current site, including the new STEAM and Sixth Form buildings, obtained full planning permission in October. IID have produced an immersive VR model, which has informed further design development and assisted the school in communicating their vision for the project to parents, teachers and pupils, to generate support and interest in the scheme.
October Half Term saw completion of Phase 3 of IID’s Building Development Plan at RGS Guildford. The latest phase provides various new spaces including a large Seminar Room and a new MFL Department above the existing school giving impressive views across Guildford. This follows the completion of the John Brown Building and Bridge in 2016 and paves the way for the first of two Atrium infills to the school’s courtyards.
On 6th September 2018, our Director, Simon Tupper, spoke at Waldegrave School’s ‘Work Experience Launch and Inspiration Day’ which was attended by the new Year 12 students. The presentation concluded with a ‘speed networking’ session whereby the students had 5 minutes to quiz their guests on their particular area of work.
Phase 1 of the Sixth Form Refurbishment at Reed’s School in Cobham was handed over in September, providing a striking modern study space and café in time for the new Sixth Form intake. Phase 2 followed on which will provide upgraded boarding accommodation and thermal envelope to the 1950s Bristowe House building.
