Woodlands is one of the original post-war comprehensives constructed using a pre-CLASP building system. It is listed as a prime example of its type and it is this Grade II listing that made addressing its physical shortcomings highly problematic. IID were commissioned in 2009 to propose a renewal strategy and negotiate an approval with English Heritage and Coventry’s Conservation Officer. Full Planning Consent and Listed Building Consent were achieved and formed the basis of the subsequent BSF proposal for the school’s transformation.
