Our team
We take care to recruit talented architects who are excellent all-rounders – skilled designers, focused, practical and crucially, delightful to work with but we each have our own distinct strengths
Our Community
IID Architects runs a Work Experience programme which sees approximately 10-12 students every year spending two weeks working with us – as well as learning design and presentation skills and having some training on our building design software, students can join live projects, team meetings and generally to find out about a career in design.
By hosting work experience students from schools and universities and ensuring their time with us is spent profitably, we are putting something back into our local and professional communities. This contributes to the development of the future workforce, helps us gain an insight into the current education system (which feeds back into our work) and develops our own staff by encouraging them to mentor/coach young people.
In 2016 we also became involved with the RIBA Architectural Ambassadors scheme, a school programme which arranges for architects to collaborate with teachers and then go into schools to run design workshops with the aim of inspiring children about the importance of a well-designed built environment.
With regard to wider social responsibility, we support those within the practice in their personal charitable initiatives (particularly the annual Swimathon for Marie Curie Cancer Care and Maggie’s London Night Hike). As a practice we also support a selection of local and national charities.
