IID’s brief was to bring coherence to the piecemeal development of the school that had taken place over the previous 50 years. The most significant needs were identified as dining provision, classrooms, circulation, examination space and staff work areas. In addition the school sought to rationalise the air heating and cooling systems and reduce the school's carbon footprint.
The first phase completed in Summer 2013 with the expansion of 5th/6th form common rooms and a new Mezzanine Gallery to the Assembly Hall.
Phase II and III - new dining hall, library, classrooms and offices, were completed in Winter 2015.
